The latest Ipswich Town team news as Kieran McKenna’s side gear up to face Bristol City in the Championship on Wednesday night.
Ipswich Town come into their midweek clash with Bristol City preparing for their first game since before the international break. The Tractor Boys were due to return to action on Friday but the impacts of Storm Babet saw the tie against Rotherham United called off.
Still, Town sit in 2nd place and will be looking to maintain their impressive run in the Championship.
Bristol City on the other hand played won at the weekend. A Rob Dickie goal secured a narrow victory over Coventry City, lifting the Robins to 8th in the Championship table after 12 games.
Speaking prior to the game, McKenna confirmed that Elkan Baggott is still struggling with stiffness in his back since returning from international duty with Indonesia. He hasn’t been training as a result, likely ruling him out.
Striker Freddie Ladapo has also been absent from training due to an achilles injury. He too is set to miss out for Ipswich Town, but it is hoped he won’t be out for long.
Wes Burns is yet to receive a timeframe for the recovery of his shoulder injury suffered with Wales.
If there’s a silver lining to the postponed game last Friday, it means returning internationals like Cameron Burgess and Massimo Luongo will have had longer to rest up. For that reason, you would expect both to start for Ipswich Town here.
Out wide, one of Marcus Harness or Omari Hutchinson will likely take Wes Burns’ spot on the right. Up top, Ladapo’s injury means George Hirst should maintain his spot up top.
The game kicks off at 19:45 at Ashton Gate tomorrow night.
