The Celtic Trust is a fan collective group that attempts to prevent one solitary group or person from taking control of the club. Founded in 2000, they have gained over 150,000 shares in the club.
Recently, this number increased. The Trust announced earlier in the week that they had purchased a further 10,000 shares, increasing their total to 170,000.
They are now the eighth-largest shareholder in Celtic. Made for supporters by supporters, the group holds the best interest of fans at heart.
In the coming years, it will be interesting to see what The Celtic Trust can conjure up. Each year, it seems as though their influence grows larger.
With the recent ban on the Green Brigade, unity and togetherness are required within the Hoops support. The Trust can certainly provide that as any steps towards increased fan influence in the hierarchy of Celtic can only be positive.
This means that supporters will have the opportunity to be there in person and see their heroes receive in-club awards for the end of the 2023/24 campaign. The reason for such a change in venue and style is that it is the 20th anniversary of the Celtic Player of the Year awards.
