Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff called for the team to be put in more primetime games following the 34-20 win over the Green Bay Packers /cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/72976625/1861151601.0.jpg)
While speaking to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Goff was asked if he liked playing in primetime games due to the fact the Lions have gone 3-0 under head coach Dan Campbell when playing under the bright lights.
‘Yeah, we like it. Keep putting us in prime time if you want. We feel good,’ Goff said as a sea of Detroit fans in the stands behind him chanted his named as they waited around Green Bay’s Lambeau Field.
Goff finished the game going 19-28, one touchdown, and one interception during the victory.
The win marked not only the Lions third primetime win under coach Campbell but also the team’s second one this season following the season opener against Kansas City Chiefs.
During the Week 1 win Goff went 22-35 for 253 yards and a touchdown.
One thing that was similar in both games aside from a win for the Lions was Goff connecting with Detroit’s No. 1 wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown for a touchdown.
During this week’s win against Green Bay the duo connected on a 24-yard touchdown after Brown cut sharply enough to make the defender attempting guard him, while the Week 1 TD came on a short crossing route across the middle for a nine-yard gain.
The major difference this time however was the impact made by Lions running back David Montgomery.
Montgomery carried the ball 32 times after he sat out the Lions’ victory over Atlanta last Sunday with a thigh bruise.
He became the first Lion to rush for three touchdowns in Green Bay and the first Detroit player to top 100 yards rushing with three TDs since James Stewart in 2000.
