Millwall centre-back Shaun Hutchinson has been ruled out against Leeds United next weekend through injury, Gary Rowett has now confirmed
The international break gives teams a major chance to get key players back up to full fitness ahead of the resumption of the hectic schedule, and Leeds have their fair share of concerns.
Millwall are the Whites’ next opponents, renewing a rivalry that always brings out a feisty encounter home and away.
Lions boss Gary Rowett has now confirmed a major blow for his side, with captain Shaun Hutchinson ruled out for the match after being forced off in their draw with Birmingham last weekend.“It looks like he is probably going to miss two to three games.
“And then we’ll see where we are at from there. He might be back a little bit quicker or longer – it is difficult to pinpoint exactly. He is not going to be fit for the Leeds game, put it that way.”
Last season, Hutchinson didn’t feature in 18 league games for the Lions, and Rowett’s side only managed six wins in those matches, equating to a win-rate of just 33%.
Junior Firpo has confirmed that he aims to be back to full fitness soon with the left-back spot looking very thin for numbers right now:“Right now I feel very good, I am almost recovered from my last injury with a lot of desire to play with the team again.”

Meanwhile, there has been little update on the recovery of Patrick Bamford and Dan James after their respective setbacks recently.
Hutchinson has struggled a lot with injuries over the past few seasons and him missing out is a big blow as much as Wes Harding is a solid backup.
The Lions, perhaps surprisingly, aren’t blessed with a lot of centre-back cover, so losing their club captain to injury here is a worry for them.
Even without him, I’m expecting a very tough game at the New Den as per usual, given it’s never been a fun place for us on the road.
