BBC REPORT : Crystal Palace set another big test for Goalkeeper after Durham defeat ahead of next match……

The Blues travel to Sutton United to take on the Eagles this Sunday in their third Barclays Women’s Championship game of the campaign.

Both sides are unbeaten thus far, having drawn their respective opening day games before claiming vital wins in gameweek two.

Durham’s three points came against a tricky Lewes side – with McAloon admitting the dressing room were pleased to register a victory at this early stage, with a clean sheet an added bonus too.

“We were delighted,” she said.

“It’s great to get three points on the board. We had a positive start against Watford and it was great to carry that on.

“We’re aiming for clean sheets every game so to get that one at the weekend was really important for the whole team – not just the back four.

“As a collective that’s what we’re aiming for and hoping to achieve.

“It’s been a good start,” she continued

“It’s really tight in the league so we’ll take each game as it comes.”

But Durham’s solid start will be put to the test when they face Laura Kaminski’s Palace side.

The Eagles were victorious in both league games last season, although Durham did triumph when the sides met in the FA Cup.

And McAloon is under no illusions of the test that awaits in the capital.

“It’s going to be a big test,” admitted the stopper.

“But we’re working hard so we’ll go out with a game plan and try and get the win.”

Having seen strong backing at Watford on the opening day, McAloon is also relishing the chance to play in front of the club’s travelling support again.

“It’s absolutely amazing, them travelling down to see us,” she added.

“It means everything to us and it really gives us that extra push, home and away.

“They’re brilliant and they really mean a lot to us.”
