Kostas Tsimikas is set to sign a new contract with Liverpool, which will keep him at the club until 2027.

The defender’s current contract runs until 2025, but The Athletic reports that Jurgen Klopp is keen to keep hold of the 27-year-old, who is an important member of the squad despite not being a first XI player.

The Greece international arrived at Anfield in 2020 from Olympiacos for a fee of just under £12 million and has made 62 appearances for Liverpool to date, although only 35 of those have come in the Premier League.
Andy Robertson is by far the first-choice left-back, although Tsimikas has shown great form when given the chance to shine.
So far this season, he has only played 4 minutes as a substitute in a 3-1 win over Bournemouth.
But despite his limited playing time, Tsimikas is said to have settled into life on Merseyside and was happy to agree a contract extension as negotiations progressed rapidly.
During his time at Liverpool, he recorded 12 assists and was part of the team that came close to winning the 2021/22 quadruple, narrowly missing out on the title to Manchester City and losing the final.
