Sevilla are reportedly looking to sign 18-year-old Turkish prodigy Arda Guler on loan from La Liga club Real Madrid this summer.
According to a report from Spanish media outlet Defensa Central, Arda Guler is attracting interest from Sevilla.
The Andalusian giants are looking to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window after a slow start to the 2023/24 season.
And Real Madrid’s 18-year-old prodigy is a shorter-term option than a loan contract.
Arda Guler spent most of his adult life in his homeland and became famous during his time at Fenerbahce.
The Turkish prodigy only joined Yellow Canaries in 2019 but took little time to gain momentum.
He was a regular in the team last season, leading him to receive interest from several top clubs, including Real Madrid.
Los Blancos beat out several other big clubs until signing the 18-year-old prodigy in July.
But Guler is yet to join Real Madrid after suffering a knee injury during the pre-season campaign.
However, he is edging closer to a return after successfully completing his rehabilitation.
The teenage phenomenon is preparing to make his Real Madrid debut later this month.
But he is unlikely to be a regular starter for the Blancos for much of the 2023/24 season.
It is therefore up to the young player to apply for a loan in the second half of the campaign.
And Sevilla could look to give him such an opportunity.
The Andalusian giants have started the 2023/24 La Liga campaign slowly after losing their first three matches.
And they are bottom of the table as the only team yet to pick up a point this season.
Therefore, Sevilla will look to recruit a midfielder in the January transfer window.
As a result, Guler has emerged as a possible target for Sevilla, who could play him regularly in the second half of the 2023/24 season.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid can take advantage of the opportunity to send the 18-year-old prodigy on loan.
As Guler may not get many starting opportunities for most of the 2023/24 season after recovering from injury, he could continue to progress with a solid loan spell from Real Madrid.
And it will be interesting to see whether Sevilla can secure his services on loan in the coming months.
