Arsenal midfielder. Declan Rice has praised Manchester United midfielder Harry Maguire
Both Rice and Maguire are big figures in England’s current squad.
While Rice, who can also play as a defender, regularly starts in England’s midfield, Maguire is a regular figure at the back for Gareth Southgate’s side even though he doesn’t get much playing time.
play at Manchester United.
When asked to describe the former Leicester City star on British TikTok in one word, Rice said:
“Beast”.
Interestingly, Maguire was linked with Rice’s former club West Ham United during the summer transfer window.
And the £200,000-a-week defender (SalarySport) could have moved from Old Trafford to the London Stadium.
Sky Sports reported on August 18 that West Ham had agreed a contract worth 30 million pounds with Manchester United for Maguire.
However, the defender decided to stay with the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winner.
The Guardian reported on August 15 that Maguire had in fact agreed personal terms with the Hammers, who were willing to pay the Red Devils £30m for the defender.
However, the England international could not agree a payment with Manchester United and ultimately did not move to the London Stadium.
Despite Rice’s praise for Maguire, it’s hard to see Erik ten Hag rating him highly in his Manchester United squad this season.
