Jaidon Anthony became Leeds United’s latest summer transfer signing at the 11th hour of deadline day, leaving AFC Bournemouth in a deal that sent Luis Siniterra going in a different direction.
Siniterra’s shoes are huge for Anthony, but he got his chance at promotion with Bournemouth in a season in which he scored eight goals and seven assists.
Leeds are well-stocked, with Willy Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville and Dan James on their roster; However, Anthony could also be among the most threatening wingers in the Championship.
Although he was a major contributor to their promotion in the 2021/22 campaign, regular Premier League football was much more difficult for Anthony with the Cherries.
Anthony started 11 times last time out as Bournemouth ensured their survival, and although his two starts under Andoni Iraola hardly suggest he is a peripheral player, he will get plenty of time more competition with the West Yorkshire team.
His league record is 8 goals andWiththatinmind, herewetakealookatallthelatestnewssinceAnthonymovedtoLeedsfromBournemouth. 7 assists in 50 matches, contributing a goal about every game in the Second Division for the Cherries.
Speaking to LUTV following his move from Bournemouth, Anthony explained his delight at the pending move, saying:
“It’s really exciting, obviously it’s all happened very quickly, but I’m looking forward to joining the group and hopefully being able to help the team.
“Obviously last year we (Bournemouth) were promoted fr
“It’s really exciting to come back and try to help me get another promotion.
I feel like I’m getting better every year and last year was a big step forward and I played a lot of matches.
“I hope I can use it here.
Obviously the goal is to get promoted, play as many games as possible, help the team and play an important role in success.
Farke said:
“I am always open and honest.
I have been congratulating Luis since I arrived.
He can excel and dominate at this level.
“If I said I was happy he left, no one would believe me.
We talked about the complications of his contract, I won’t go into details.
The harsh reality.
We have to accept that he’s gone.
Farke then discussed Anthony, who has arrived at Elland Road on a season-long loan deal.
Anthony took to social media platforms Twitter and Instagram to reveal his thoughts on the move.
‘Elland Road, he said:
“I’m delighted to be at this great club, I can’t wait to get started.
Let’s walk together.
I’m Bournemouth.
He added:
“YouAnthony didn’t play for Leeds last time out in the 0-0 draw against Sheffield Wednesday, because it was too close to the transfer deadline.
However, the international break has given him enough time to settle into his new surroundings and perhaps train with the first team.
Leeds will be back in action on Sunday lunchtime when they travel to Millwall live on Sky Sports.
Unless there is an injury during the international break, a debut is likely to be at the Den.
You might feel sorry for yourself but no, we’ve found the perfect
With Jaidon Anthony, we have found the best possible option.
Proven in championships.
Start of Premier League matches.
A smart boy.
Desperate to be here.
Another age where he can improve.
“Anthony took the vacant number 12 shirt at Elland Road.
This shirt number was last worn by Tyler Adams at Elland Road, before he coincidentally moved to Bournemouth
om that tournament and I played a lot of matches and yeah, I know it’s a really tough tournament, really physical and demanding.
