After a difficult summer transfer window, many people predicted that West Brom would be in the opposite position on the rankings.

But Corberan continues to work his magic as his side have picked up seven points from their first five games of the season to sit 11th.
However, the near future still looks quite bleak for the Baggies, who have key players out of contract in a year’s time.
Here, we look at three player contracts that West Brom need to keep an eye on before 2024…
Alex Mowatt looked a very good signing when Valérien Ismael brought him to the club.
But he was unable to continue and his contract expires at the end of the season.
However, it looks like he has a chance to impress this season.
On loan to Middlesbrough last season, Mowatt had some good performances, especially in the latter part of the season, so there is still hope that he can feature for West Brom.
Matt Phillips really proved his worth under Corberan last season.Championship: Ajayi may miss Rotherham United clash - West Brom boss, Corberan - Daily Post Nigeria
The arrival of the Spaniard brought back Phillips’ best form before injury cut his season short, but he bounced back and returned to the starting XI.
The 32-year-old has appeared in 5 matches in the National League this season and scored 1 goal.
If he has a good campaign for West Brom, then he could be the one to agree a new deal.
Last summer, Erik Pieters joined the club as a free agent and performed very well for the club in the 2022/23 season.
And the 35-year-old has made four appearances this campaign after signing a contract extension.
Despite his age, he remains a very valuable player for West Brom, and as he did last season, he could be extended for another year if there is a good campaign for Baggies.
