In a recent article, Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley proposed a trade idea between the LA Clippers and Miami Heat that revolves around Paul George.
The full trade proposal looks like this:
Clippers receive:
Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, 2027 first-round pick, 2029 first-round pick and 2028 first-round pick swap
As Buckley note, this deal Of course, that’s assuming the Heat don’t trade Damian Lillard, since that’s the bulk of what they could offer him.
That being said, for the same reason the Trail Blazers are currently unwilling to accept Miami’s offer for Lillard, the Clippers will not accept this offer for George.
While Herro is a good player and Robinson is a knockdown shooter, those two players certainly won’t push the Clippers to deal George, even with a collection of draft picks.
Where they currently are in their schedule, with veterans like Kawhi Leonard and Russell Westbrook, as well as a new arena coming next season, the Clippers are in no position to offer George a package like like this.
Dealing George would be a tough sell at this point for the Clippers, as although his contract situation and injury issues have some believing he could be on the market this summer, the team, which re-signed Westbrook, is inquiring about a trade for James Harden.
and publicly committed to their current star duo, suggesting they intend to make at least one last attempt to win it all with this core.
