According to BBC reporter: Tottenhem star rejected £5.6M approaches from the likes of Aston Villa….

Tottenham Hotspur ace Manor Solomon rejected approaches from the likes of Aston Villa as well as Brighton and Hove Albion this summer.

Manor Solomon only wanted to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer amid interest from both Aston Villa and Brighton. That is according to a report from Ynet in Solomon’s native Israel, who sent a reporter to London to speak to the Tottenham winger.

They claim that Solomon had offers on the table from other English clubs such as Aston Villa, Brighton and Fulham.

Fulham’s interest is no great shock after Solomon spent last season on there, but Villa and Brighton seemingly joined the race.

However, Solomon told people close to him that he only wanted to join Tottenham, rejecting all other approaches.

Solomon arrived from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer after FIFA allowed foreign players in Ukraine to suspend their contracts again.

Spurs don’t appear to have finalised terms for the the Israel international, with Shakhtar demanding €6.5million (£5.6million) in compensation.

There has been little movement – at least in public – on that front but Solomon is already shining under Ange Postecoglou.

Solomon came into the starting lineup against Burnley just before the international break and racked up five key passes, two assists and three successful dribbles.

The 24-year-old was at it again on Saturday, registering four key passes, one shot on target and four successful dribbles.

Solomon provides a real spark down the left flank and is laying down the gauntlet to new signing Brennan Johnson.

Solomon’s agent Shlomy Ben Ezra indicated over the summer that Villa had made a move for the winger but this goes back even further.

ONE in Israel reported in 2021 that Villa were keen on signing Solomon before finalising a deal for Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia.

That meant Villa backed away but it seems that they have kept close tabs on him ever since.

Villa may have seen Solomon as competition for places ahead of their Europa Conference League campaign but will now have to face him in Premier League games moving forward.

Add in interest from Brighton – a team whose recruitment has been hailed for years now – and Tottenham will be very happy to have secured Solomon in the face of major competition.
