Brian Windhorst shares his latest trade needs with Damian Lillard
Time is running out for the Portland Trail Blazers and Miami Heat.
All summer, these two teams have been dancing around a potential Damian Lillard trade.
Lillard wants Miami, Miami wants Lillard and Portland wants a lot — maybe too much
According to Brian Windhorst, via NBACentral, the Blazers want the Heat to “exhaust all assets” for Lillard.
“They want the Heat to literally dig into every corner and produce everything they can.
The Heat didn’t feel the need to do that,” Windhorst reported.
At this point, it remains questionable whether the Blazers will actually try to reach a deal.

The Heat made offers and showed what they were willing to give to get the superstar guard.
But the Blazers have consistently beaten them down and always followed through on their imposing demand
They asked the Heat for everything they could, even though they knew the team wouldn’t give it to them.
The Blazers have made it clear they are in no rush to make a deal.
If they can convince the Heat to transfer all the assets they dream of, they will happily leave.
But if the Heat continue to decline until the new season begins, the Blazers will be content to sit on Lillard and wait
They feel like they have the upper hand because they have it.
It is increasingly likely that Lillard will stick with the Blazers at the start of the 2023-24 season.
Unless Miami collapses and gives the Blazers everything they want or Portland lowers its demands, this deal won’t move forward.
