Daniel Farke’s pre-match press conference took place at Thorp Arch on Tuesday afternoon before Leeds United visit Hull City in the Championship and this is what we learned
Daniel Farke faced the media at Thorp Arch on Tuesday afternoon as he looked ahead to the Championship clash between Hull City and Leeds United on Wednesday night. The manager spoke for a little over 20 minutes at the training ground and here are the headlines from what we learned.
Seven weeks after pulling up with a hamstring injury at Tynecastle Park, Patrick Bamford has finally returned to full training and, for once, there is no urgent need for him to hit the ground running. Ever since that ankle issue at Newcastle United in 2021, shortly after his England debut, United’s number nine has lurched from one injury to the next with a desperate need for his goals whenever he has recovered.
“Good news from Patrick Bamford, he joined us yesterday, the first time back in team training,” said Farke. “Obviously, the games this week are coming a bit too soon for him after he was out for about eight weeks, but definitely good news and a major, major boost for us.
“When you are back in team training you are theoretically available, but you must not forget he was out for about eight weeks. If there’s an emergency case or something like this, or we have a special idea, yes, he’s back in team training and could be available, but for the game tomorrow he’s definitely not in my plans because he’s had just one training session and we have to be a bit careful.”
