BBC NEWS Simon Jordan explains why West Brom could tempt new owners with a £200m claim

Simon Jordan has explained that West Brom’s potential new owners will view the club as an investment, with a potential value of £200m in the future if they manage it properly.
Jordan joined Action for Albion committee member Alistair Jones live on talkSPORT [September 20], where he explained that the club would be an attractive prospect for any potential owners Who wants to buy?
This follows claims that Guochuan Lai was looking to sell his majority stake in the club and Jordan suggested it would be a good buy for any potential investors.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [September 20, 2011:

“I think people will buy this football club.
Again, people don’t do that, no one wants to pay a guy to walk away more than he has to.
“They’ll take on the debt, they’ll take on the debt and accept that’s the price of the ticket, but for someone going out with money coming in, it’s going to be a challenge.

“We’ll see if anyone wants to pay £30 or £35 million for him, but I don’t think it’s a bad buy for anyone who thinks a football club like West Bromwich Albion has the ability to potential, with good management, good jobs and a good management team.

“If you look at that and say, ‘if I put £35m on the table, collect debts that I can restructure and pay off over a period of time, cash flow, and [if] I have to spend another 20 or 30 [million] to put myself in a position where I can make it to the Premier League if I run this football club properly and appoint the right manager.
“Suddenly you find yourself with a football club that is worth £60m and is now between £150m and £200m.
It becomes a transaction that people can see in their minds.
It seems like all the discussion surrounding the ownership situation at West Brom has been filled with negativity and doubt, which is no surprise given the difficult situation they are in, but the latest comments Jordan’s will give a positive outlook on things.
The suggestion that a potential new owner could transform the club into a Premier League team once again, and thereby increase the value and atmosphere surrounding the Hawthorns, would be music to the ears of fans.
Baggies.
Of course, for this to happen they need the right owner, one who understands the club and wants to develop it rather than just use it as an investment opportunity, but remains absolutely positive that the future holds bright body.
Looking at Coventry City, Huddersfield Town and Birmingham City last year, each club was bought by ambitious owners who are aiming high with the intention of reaching new heights, and there is no reason why West Brom cannot can be on this list.
