JUST NOW: Farke should unleash Leeds 25-year-old for first time since August 18, excellent record against Hull….

Daniel Farke is likely to rotate his Leeds United side somewhat tonight with the trip to Hull City a second of three games in six days – and he should unleash winger Dan James, for a first start since August 18.

James, 25, has not started for Leeds since the 1-1 draw with West Brom. An injury and the return of Willy Gnonto has seen the Wales star drop out of the starting XI. Now a month since James last started.

But he came on against Millwall on Sunday, and inadvertently got himself two assists. The first, a shot that found its way to Joel Piroe to score his second. Then, his pass setting up Georginio Rutter for 3-0.

Gnonto has managed just one goal and no assists this season – that goal coming in the 4-3 win over Ipswich. Perhaps, he needs a rest and James should be seriously considered to come in on the left.

Mostly, because James has a good record against Hull. Three games against Liam Rosenior’s side in his career – scoring one and creating another in those matches. He scored for Fulham last season at Hull.

Gnonto has been decent but perhaps, he needs a bit of a rest and taking him out of the firing line on Wednesday night – and bringing him on later might just help him. James is the obvious replacement.

So, James’ excellent cameo at Millwall and his past record against Hull is surely enough to convince Farke to throw him into the starting XI on Wednesday night. He can provide the difference at the KCOM.
