according to Jessica Creighton: stunned by ‘incredible’ Brandon Thomas-Asante moment in West Brom 2-2 Watford
“They’re just beginning to turn the screw here and just putting their dominance over Watford in this second half,” Creighton said live on Sky Sports News (20 September, 09:01pm).
“Brandon Thomas-Asante brings the ball down just outside the 18-yard box, took it on his left foot and unleashes a rocket. It’s going towards the top corner but the Watford goalkeeper, Daniel Bachmann, just gets a touch on it to knock it over for a corner.
“Incredible chance, incredible shot. Not to be yet for West Brom but they are still pushing.”
Thomas-Asante has enjoyed a strong start to the new Championship season, with the 24-year-old having two goals to his name heading into the clash against Watford.
The attacker also netted in the EFL Cup clash with Stoke City, proving himself to be a key member of the Albion side.
His presence going forward is crucial to the club picking up points this season, particularly amid the absence of the injured Daryl Dike.
But he couldn’t extend his goal tally against the Hornets, with their goalkeeper Bachmann doing a superb job to earn his side a point.
It was a very hard-fought point for both clubs, in what was a thrilling four-goal encounter under the lights at Vicarage Road.
Remarkably, all four goals on the night were scored in the opening 23 minutes, the first of which came from Watford’s Tom Ince after just three minutes.
Swift and Wallace then turned the match on its head with goals in the 14th and 17th minutes respectively, only for Matheus Martins to level things six minutes later.
