In an interview with Sport890, Nandez reveals a move to Leeds was a possibility in years gone bye. He said: “Years ago, one of the possibilities was to go to Leeds, the team where Bielsa managed. He is a spectacular professional. He goes game by game and depending on how the team works.”

Nandez remains a Cagliari player to this day, but has finally got the opportunity to work with Bielsa after the former Whites boss took over the Uruguayan national side earlier this year.

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Alan Hutton believes Spurs have played their part in the injury to Djed Spence this season, after a lack of minutes since moving to the Premier League club. “You do not want to see any player within your squad get injured whether they are out on loan or playing in your team,” he told Football Insider.

“He was sent out for a reason to get as many minutes as possible and sometimes I think that can be the problem. You have come from your club and not played a lot of minutes to go to a team where they are expecting you to play every minute possible and then you end up picking up a niggly injury because you are not match sharp.

“It is a real shame for both the clubs and the player himself as well.“
