The former Burnley striker joins Hamilton Accies on a permanent contract

John Rankin has strengthened his attacking options for today’s trip to Dumfries

Hamilton Accies have added a striker to their squad ahead of the clash with Queen of the South, after signing Swedish striker Joel Ngeany Mumbongo.
The 24-year-old signed for Burnley a few years ago and played four games for them in the Premier League.
He recently went on trial at Accies and an agreement between the players and his representatives was reached in recent days.

Mumbongo, who has scored twice in 42 appearances for the senior side, will go straight into the squad for this afternoon’s League One clash at Palmerston, where he starts on the bench.
A club statement said:
“The club is today delighted to announce the signing of striker Joel Ngeany Mumbongo.
“Joel joins us on a permanent transfer from Tranmere Rovers FC on a one-year contract, with the option of a second year at the club.
“He has played in Sweden, Italy and England and finished last with Tranmere Rovers.
International clearance arrived from the FA yesterday afternoon.
