Frattesi took another long-range shot moments later, but it sailed harmlessly over the crossbar.
Although he did not score, the former Sassuolo player appeared lively on the field, finding the perfect connection with Hakan Calhanoglu.
Both were pulling the strings in Inter’s midfield before Nicolo Barella took over from Frattesi midway through the second half.
His energetic performance could convince Inzaghi to give him a fresh start on Tuesday.
Inter will play Giuseppe Meazza’s former club Sassuolo against Frattesi’s former club in the next few days.
While only Inzaghi knows who will start against the Neroverdi, the Italy international has every reason to look forward to the next clash with his former teammates.
The enthusiasm is there, as Frattesi admitted after today’s victory.
