The Utah Jazz were recently linked with the possibility of acquiring Tyler Herro from the Miami Heat in exchange for Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers.
This report comes from Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
“Though beyond the initial rumors about Brooklyn and Chicago, the only team even vaguely linked as a suitor for Herro is Utah,” Fischer wrote.
He said that during the 2022 offseason, the Jazz were connected to Herro as there was discussion of a potential trade between the Heat and Jazz involving Donovan Mitchell.
Interestingly, league insiders are increasingly confident that the Heat will be able to acquire a first-round pick to include in the trade package for Herro, which would make the deal more attractive to Trail Blazers.
On another note, there has been speculation that the Brooklyn Nets would also express interest in acquiring Herro while also getting rid of Ben Simmons.
However, sources close to the matter have informed Fischer that there have been no significant discussions about a possible exchange.
It’s worth noting that Simmons has two years left on his contract, worth approximately $80 million.
