BBC NEWS; Everton track Blackburn Rovers star

According to Alan Nixon, the Toffees have sent scout Steve Davis to monitor the player in recent weeks.

The 19-year-old had an excellent season last year, playing 18 times alongside Jon Dahl Tomasson as they finished seventh in the Championship table.
He contributed two goals and one assist, and his performance earned him widespread praise.
The midfielder started this campaign as a key player for Rovers, starting seven of the club’s first eight matches.
What’s the latest news about Adam Wharton?
Earlier this year, it was reported that the youngster was on the radar of Premier League sides Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but no move was made in the summer transfer window.
Everton was also said to have intended to transfer in the previous transfer window, but the Merseyside team did not make any specific offer.
However, their interest remains as clubs begin preparing possible transfer plans for January.
The market will reopen in 2024, leaving teams wondering what additions they can make to improve their squads mid-season.
Crystal Palace is also mentioned as the promising young player’s potential next destination if he leaves Ewood Park in January.

Wharton has contributed one assist to the team in eight league appearances this season.
He is the latest star to emerge from Rovers’ academy system, after Blackburn sold former team-mate Ashley Phillips earlier this year to Spurs.
It remains to be seen what price the Lancashire side will offer for the player ahead of the January transfer window in the next few months.
How has Blackburn started this season?
Tomasson’s side are currently 14th in the championship standings, with inconsistent results keeping them from competing higher up the table.
Last weekend’s dramatic 4-3 defeat to Ipswich Town saw the team fall behind 1-0 and come from behind 3-1 to equalise, only to concede a goal in the 79th minute of the game.

The defeat was the team’s second in a row, following a midweek loss to Sunderland under former manager Tony Mowbray.
Rovers lost to the Black Cats on goal difference last season, which was enough to knock Blackburn out of the play-off places.
Tomasson’s side will be aiming to finish in the top six this campaign and will therefore need to quickly improve on their current form.
Next up for Rovers is an EFL Cup clash with Cardiff City on Wednesday night.
How much is Adam Wharton worth?
Wharton is a special talent who was established at the heart of Blackburn’s midfield at just 19 years old
He certainly has the potential to become a Premier League player in the near future, meaning Blackburn will feel entitled to charge a fee for him.
Getting his signature in the January transfer window could cost up to £10m.
Wharton is under contract with Rovers until the summer of 2027, so the Championship side have a lot of leverage when it comes to potential negotiations.
