The report claims the club have held exploratory discussions with sides in the Middle East and the United States over a potential £50m takeover.

The search for a new owner at West Bromwich Albion is said to have intensified.
According to the Daily Mail, current owner Guochuan Lai is now considering a sale before the end of the year, as the Baggies have held exploratory discussions with parties in the Middle East and the US about a takeover worth 50 million euros.
million pounds.
Daily Mail revealed that Lai’s desire to sell by the end of 2023 is for the club to avoid having to sell more talent in the January transfer period to improve its financial situation.
This summer, for example, the club felt the need to sell centre-back Dara O’Shea, and there are concerns that if other players are sold, the club could start to move towards the left side of the table.
What do West Brom supporters think of the latest takeover news?
With the above news in mind, we thought we’d consult FLW’s West Brom fan expert Matt Smith to see what he thinks of the latest developments at The Hawthorns.
Of course, Matt doesn’t speak for all Baggies fans, but his thoughts give us an insight into the feelings of those on the terraces.
“I think the reports, although there is a positive element in there and that positive element is that the current owner is looking to sell, but we already knew that and it’s not really a surprise .
” Matt told FLW.
“To me, it’s annoying that they’re desperately, you know, trying to drum up interest and to me, that’s not a good thing but it’s worrying.
“The more desperate we are, the more likely it is that another scammer will come and harm us, so I’m not happy to read the reports.
“I think a sensible takeover, by the right group, would not happen amid the media coverage and rumours, so I don’t take many positives from it.
“If there is a good offer, Lai will accept, we know that.
“It’s a shame from where I’m looking.
It just shows how desperate we are and that’s not a good thing.
Our fans expert is therefore clear that this latest development is more worrying than positive, suggesting the club are working hard to find a new buyer.
