The Baggies boss is hoping to do what no Championship manager has done this season: pick up three points at Deepdale.
West Brom boss Carlos Corberan wants his side to do better in the first half as the Baggies prepare for their trip to Preston North End on Saturday.
Albion have not won since August 26, but are also unbeaten in their last three matches, drawing with Bristol City, Watford and most recently Millwall.
West Brom endured goalless stalemates with the Robins and Lions, leaving them in 13th place ahead of this weekend’s clash with Deepdale.
Corberan’s men have won two and lost two this season, with four draws.
The Baggies trailed Preston by 10 points at the start of the campaign and Ryan Lowe’s side will be looking to extend their unbeaten run for the season by eight games.
But they must be ready for Albion to quickly escape the siege – if they achieve Corberan’s wishes.
“The negatives were part of the first half,” Corberan said after Millwall.
“We weren’t competitive enough in the game – in 50-50 balls, in defense or attack.
It was a bad start for us.
The only thing we can regret is failed to do these things.
“ for the whole match.
Now our main goal is not just to keep a clean sheet.
It’s about repeating our second-half performances against Bristol City and Millwall, and making sure we play like that for the full 90 minutes.
If we can do that, we will have a much better chance of winning.
Preston have won all their home games this season, winning each game 2-1.
They also proved difficult to penetrate, only conceding 6 goals, the second best defensive record in the Championship.
To put an end to the Lilywhites’ home form, Corberan’s side will have to do without a number of key players.
North End foe John Swift is fit and ready while Grady Diangana, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Jeremy Sarmiento, Jed Wallace and Matt Phillips all bolster Albion’s attack.
But the Baggies are without strikers Daryl Dike and Josh Maja as well as former PNE member Adam Reach.
Defender Martin Kelly remains a long-term absentee, while Erik Pieters is also a doubt.
