Liverpool’s lineup against Leicester City changed after the superstar’s decision

Liverpool’s predicted lineup and latest team news ahead of Leicester City’s Carabao Cup match at Anfield

Paul Gorst:
Pep Lijnders thinks changes are “out of the question” tonight, but I still think this will be a strong enough team to make Leicester City wince when news about the team is released.
Liverpool were 'willing to swap Darwin Nunez for Chelsea flop' – but the player said no - Daily Star
These are the options Jurgen Klopp now has as he has often been able to field teams full of quality at every stage of this season’s cup competitions.
Caoimhin Kelleher a “world class” assistant, according to Lijnders started in goal behind a defense of Joe Gomez, Jarell Quansah, Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson.
In midfield, Wataru Endo could anchor the engine room with Harvey Elliott and Ryan Gravenberch ahead of the Japan captain with Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister waiting on the wings.
At the top, Ben Doak starts on the right with Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo completing the front three.
Mo Salah could have a night off while Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz could be kept in reserve.
According to Squires:
With Jurgen Klopp making 11 changes from last week’s Europa League win over LASK Linz, I would expect big changes again when Liverpool kick off their League Cup campaign against Leicester City.
Caoimhin Kelleher returns to start in goal, with Stefan Bajcetic once again tested in an inverted right-back position.
Kostas Tsimikas starts at left-back, with Ibrahima Konate starting at centre-back alongside youngster Jarell Quansah.
The midfielder who started last week in Austria gets the nod again, with Wataru Endo playing deeper and Harvey Elliott and Ryan Gravenberch both being used in the number eight position.
Meanwhile, Ben Doak gets a fresh start in right-wing attack, with Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota both returning to the starting line-up after being brought on as substitutes in last weekend’s win over West Ham.
My team (4-3-3):
Kelleher; Bajcetic, Konaté, Quansah, Tsimikas; Elliott, Endo, Gravenberch; Doak, Gakpo, Jota.
Sean Bradbury:
While it is tempting to keep the momentum going with some of the in-form players, Spurs are a big game this weekend.
That means the highly capable “second string” will be backed up to face Leicester City at Anfield this evening.
Caoimhin Kelleher received the nod in goal.

In front of him are four defenders Stefan Bajcetic (again playing in a hybrid role), Joel Matip, Jarell Quansah and Kostas Tsimikas.
The midfielder who started against LASK left with the hope of being a little more cohesive from the start.
In attack, Ben Doak and Diogo Jota played on the wings, with Cody Gakpo leading the way.
Resting Darwin Nunez was a difficult decision when he plays such a role.
but tonight it made sense.
He can intervene if necessary.
Brendan McGilligan:
Jurgen Klopp will keep an eye on Saturday night’s match against Tottenham Hotspur when selecting his squad for the League Cup clash with Leicester City.
The German could choose a team similar to the one that faced LASK in the Europa League as they prepare to face the Championship leaders.
Caoimhin Kelleher will return to midfield as he resumes his role as goalkeeper for the Red Devils.
The defense will likely see Stefan Bajcetic playing on the right of the back line, while Trent Alexander-Arnold remains sidelined through injury and allows Joe Gomez to rest.
The centre-back duo can use Joel Matip’s experience to help Jarell Quansah continue his impressive start to his Liverpool career, and Konstantinos Tsimikas will play at left-back.
