Wolves will attempt to bounce back from their defeat to Ipswich Town in the Carabao Cup against Manchester City on Saturday.
Wanderers welcome Pep Guardiola’s side to Molineux, and last season’s Treble winners are six for six in the Premier League so far.
Without really hitting top gear, City have swept aside all that have come before them – and they’ve done that with a number of injuries to key players.
Wolves have a huge task on their hands trying to get something from the game.
The defeat to Ipswich was very disappointing.
But Gary O’Neil did make a lot of changes, and the team that starts on Saturday will look very different.
But regardless of the team O’Neil goes with, there is only one outcome in the eyes of Paul Merson…
They may also have lost their midweek game in the Carabao Cup against Newcastle United.
But if anything, that might just help City to refocus.
And they will surely be looking to put that loss firmly behind them with a statement win.
Merson can indeed only see a City win.
Predicting a 3-1 away victory, he said (Sportskeeda): “Wolves were outstanding against Liverpool in the first half but got blown away after the interval. They have the personnel to cause a handful of problems, but Manchester City should win this one.”
City are perhaps the very last Premier League team Wolves would want to face after a demoralising cup defeat to a Championship side.
At least the game is at Molineux, where hopefully the crowd can lift the players.
It’s going to be a case of City dominating the ball, as they always do.
