Legendary Ian Wright says it’s time for this amazing star to explode with his pace …

Ian Wright describes the method of Son Heung-min playing down the middle for Tottenham Hotspur as a good one.

In back-to-back games, the all-action forward has produced near-carbon copy finishes against Arsenal and Liverpool by darting across the penalty area like a red arrow before poking home.

When Harry Kane was at Tottenham, he had that central position covered, with Son Heung-min being used on the left.

Whilst Wright admitted that the South Korean star is missed out on the flanks because of his ‘dribbling’ and ‘pace’, he also stated that he can ‘score lots of goals’ as a central forward instead, as he told Premier League Productions (02/10/23 at 2:20 pm).

And given that Ange Postecoglou wants his forward players to press high up and dart around like the air inside a balloon being released, then all of this suits Son Heung-min down to a tee, with Wright backing him to explode.

I think Son playing down the middle is brilliant for them because Richarlison can easily do that (play on the left),” said Wright.

“So, in respect of being in the box. We know that we miss his dribbling and pace. But for a low-touch striker, who finishes so clinically I think he is going to score a lot of goals this season.”

The 31-year-old has previous, so why not again? It could be argued that the £22 million star (FourFourTwo) has more of a chance now than ever before.

With Kane out of the door, there are more goals up for grabs.

Adding to the present Tottenham Hotspur squad that is attack minded with plenty of force and enthusiasm under their present coach Ange postecoglou not even minding what they do it looks like they won’t stop scoring.
