Nottingham Forest first team members Neco Williams and Wayne Hennessey have both been called up to the Wales national team.
Rob Page’s side will play a friendly against Gibraltar, before a crucial clash with Croatia which could decide whether they qualify for Euro 2024.
36-year-old goalkeeper Hennessey will be looking to add to his 104 international caps, while Williams will be looking to add 32 more caps despite only having 22 caps.
Williams’ call-up may come as a surprise to many Forest fans, as he has not featured in any matchday squad since the Carabao Cup defeat to Burnley at the end of August due to injury.
In an announcement on its official Twitter page, the Welsh Football Association confirmed the squad for the upcoming matches against Gibraltar and Croatia.
Wales currently sit fourth in the qualifying group, three points behind leaders Croatia and second-placed Turkey – with the top two teams automatically qualifying for next summer’s tournament.
However, Wales could move further away from the qualifying places in their clash with Croatia, as they face second-placed Turkey three days before the big clash in Cardiff.
While Hennessey was often brought on as a substitute for his country as well as for the Red Devils, Williams was more of a utility player, playing all over the field for his country.
The 22-year-old often appears as a right-back, left-back or even a midfielder for Rob Page’s team.
However, it remains to be seen how serious his recent injury is, which could play a role in how much playing time he will get to help his country qualify Another major tournament.
