Ipswich Town have received another potential boost regarding Kieran McKenna’s future
The Tractor Boys have picked up 28 points from their opening 11 games of the season, losing just one league game so far, and boss McKenna has received plenty of praise along the way.
And the former Manchester United manager has Crystal Palace admirers; Reports earlier this month revealed that the Eagles had identified McKenna as a potential successor to Roy Hodgson.
But over the weekend, Alan Nixon revealed that any club wanting to prise McKenna from Portman Road will have to cough up a hefty £4million in compensation, with the 37-year-old now earning £25,000-per-week as well as bonuses.
And in another potential boost for Ipswich, it seems like Palace are identifying a top managerial target in Paulo Fonseca, with recent reports once again crediting the Eagles with an interest in the Lille boss.
McKenna and Ipswich Town are a good pair.
They bring out the best in each other and now, they are on track to reach the top.
Ipswich Town is showing many positive signs in the Championship this season and although Preston is in decline, Town still maintains its form.
Of course there is a long way to go this season.
But at the moment there seems to be no stopping Ipswich, and it also looks like McKenna’s future at Portman Road is increasingly secure.
Not only are the club protected by a significant fee, but it appears Palace are really starting to turn their attention to Fonseca, with the Eagles being the club most linked with McKenna.
