The Rozzano city government is said to have approved the project to build a new Inter Milan stadium.
Therefore, the two clubs decided to part ways with each looking to build a stadium in a different area, Milan identified San Donato as the right location.
For their part, Inter are planning to build their new home in Rozzano. The management has recently accelerated the work on this front and is making significant progress.
According to Il Sole 24 Ore via FcInterNews24, the Nerazzurri have received initial authorization from the Rozzano municipality to build their new stadium in the region.
The authorization explicitly mentions the word “stadium”. The source describes it as a fundamental step.
The Beneamata must now wait until the official publication of the authorization. This could require another 60 days.
The club will now be looking to acquire the area and begin the concrete plans for the new ground.
As the report explains, the Nerazzurri will be looking to present the project by April 2024. They’re aiming to receive the final authorization in the next 18 months.
This would allow them to begin the construction work. Inter are hoping to have the new stadium ready for the 2028/29 campaign.
