Celtic fans took to social media on Sunday to react to the news that Rangers have named Philippe Clement as their new manager manager.
Following the sacking of Michael Beale earlier this month, Rangers have announced the 49-year-old as his permanent successor.
The Belgian manager previously enjoyed success at Genk and Club Brugge before joining Monaco, where he was sacked this June after a sixth-placed finish in France.
He was hired by Monaco in January 2022 and led the side to Champions League qualification in his first six months, but failed to match those results in his first full season as manager.
Clement is now set to lead Rangers’ charge in Scotland as the Glasgow giants attempt to close the seven-point gap to Celtic that has been built after just eight league fixtures.
The former Monaco boss will also be tasked with turning around Rangers’ Europa League campaign with the club sitting third in their group after two matches.
Celtic fans were quickly on the scene on social media to deliver their thoughts on their rivals’ latest managerial appointment.
Some fans were straight to the point – predicting that Clement would follow a similar path to Beale and be sacked before Christmas.
Others decided to try and irritate their rivals by suggesting they were ‘thrilled’ by the appointment.
