We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive West Brom columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns...
Dan Plumley has insisted that any potential West Brom takeover appears to be picking up pace at The Hawthorns after Mark Miles spoke out.
The managing director recently confirmed in the Albion Assembly Meeting Minutes that NDAs are now in place with talks underway with numerous parties.
The finance expert admitted that likely means that due diligence is underway with parties looking behind the scenes in greater detail before the potential next steps.
“It seems to be [picking up pace],” he exclusively told West Brom News.
“When you get to that stage of NDAs, then you’re looking at people really being involved in due diligence and looking behind the scenes at the books in greater detail.
That tends to be what happens, of course, we’re not privy to what exactly is going on, and part of the NDAs are there to cover that for good reason.
You tend to find that when you get to that stage that there are talks being had and conversations being done, backgrounds checks being made, just because of the nature of what an NDA will cover.”
John Percy did report on 19 September that the Baggies were in talks with parties in the Middle East and the USA as they looked to get a takeover deal over the line before the end of the year.
