The Phoenix Suns have a few new players on their team, including Jusuf Nurkic and Drew Eubanks.
These big men might be a key part of the team’s success in 2023-24.
Devin Booker thinks so and he told the press how both Nurkic and Eubanks have improved his pull-up three-point shooting.
“I think it puts pressure on the defense. A lot of the coverages in the NBA are drop coverage and I think that’s gonna be tough to do against us with some marksmen out there, people that can shoot the ball,” Booker said, according to ClutchPoints.
Because of Booker’s explanation, you can understand why the Suns acquired both of these talented stars in the offseason.
All NBA teams need a strong power forward or center to really have long-term success.
But it’s not just because of how they get rebounds and dunk over other players.
It’s also because of how they improve the game of their teammates.
Booker is already one of the greatest shooters in the league and a supremely successful guard.
The inclusion of Nurkic and Eubanks could make him even better, give him more opportunities to score, and provide him with a lot more spacing during games.
Last season, Nurkic posted 13.3 points and 9.1 rebounds a game, while Eubanks recorded 6.6 points and 5.4 rebounds.
Their goal will be to score as much as they can and they will definitely make life hard on opponents with their imposing defensive skills.
But they will also be very cognizant of creating opportunities for Booker, Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and the other strong shooters on the team.
They could be the players that really anchor this Suns roster and allow it to flourish.
