Update: Two Important Stars that would likely be missing in suns opener against warriors

Devin Booker, Bradley Beal questionable for Suns’ season opener vs. Warriors

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns’ starting backcourt of Devin Booker and Bradley Beal are both listed as questionable for the season opener on Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors.

Booker’s injury is soreness in his left big toe while Beal’s is down as low back tightness. Beal missed two separate postseason games due to his back while the injury designation for Booker is new.

Head coach Frank Vogel said after Sunday’s practice that both were limited due to their injuries. Both practiced on Monday and Vogel noted he was hopeful both would be able to play.

With the Suns assembling a Big 3 around Booker, Beal and Kevin Durant, there were always going to be concerns over the injury histories of Beal and Durant specifically.

Booker last season missed 29 games after averaging 67 appearances a year over the previous four. A nagging groin injury turned into a long-term absence across late December through to early February.

If Booker and/or Beal were to miss the opening contest of the season, Grayson Allen and Eric Gordon are both candidates to start in their place.

Both got nods in the preseason and bring lots of value to the roster for situations exactly like Tuesday’s when Phoenix potentially needs spot starters.

The Warriors are already without Draymond Green due to an ankle sprain in late September.
