The duo both missed Leicester City’s 1-0 win over Sunderland on Tuesday evening, but there is reasonably good news on both ahead of the trip to the capital at the weekend
Yunus Akgun and Wilfred Ndidi could potentially return to the Leicester City squad as early as Saturday’s trip to QPR.
The pair both missed out on Tuesday night as City’s hard-fought 1-0 win over Sunderland sent them eight points clear at the top. Yunus was missing after limping off in the previous encounter with Swansea, while Ndidi was rested.
Of the duo, Yunus is likeliest to return at Loftus Road, with his scan coming back all clear. Enzo Maresca expects him to return to training before the end of the week
For Ndidi, it’s touch and go. City plan to give him a rest for a few days to see if he can overcome what Maresca has described as a “little bit more than tiredness”.
Yunus is fine,” Maresca said after the 1-0 win over Sunderland. “He could be with us on Saturday, (and training) in two to three days.
With Wilf, it’s tiredness, something a little bit more than tiredness, so he needs some days, and we don’t want to take risks for them. He could play (on Saturday), we’ll see.”
There is also the potential for Kasey McAteer (hamstring) and Tom Cannon (back) to be back in training by the end of this week too. They are both already training on the grass, just not yet with their team-mates. Albeit, it could be a couple more weeks before they are ready to play.
