Brighton & Hove Albion’s winless run in the Premier League stretched to four matches on Sunday afternoon as they drew 1-1 with Fulham in the rain at the Amex Stadium
Adam Webster says Brighton didn’t take their chances well enough against Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
The Seagulls were looking for their first Premier League win since September against Marco Silva’s Cottagers but failed to make the most of their many chances in front of goal during the match.
Evan Ferguson gave the hosts the lead midway through the first half before captain Lewis Dunk saw his free-kick clip the bar. There were also chances for Simon Adingra, Carlos Baleba and Simon Adingra, but Albion went into the break with just a single-goal lead.
Those missed opportunities then came back to bite them when Fulham’s Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha smashed an effort past Jason Steele from just outside the box to level the game on 65 minutes.
Brighton pushed hard to find a winner but couldn’t manage it, with Webster heartbreakingly seeing his looping header during the final minutes cleared off the line by USA international Antonee Robinson.
The centre-back was asked after the match whether the timing of the game coming three days after Brighton’s must-win clash with Ajax in the Europa League hindered the players on Sunday, though he pointed to wasted chances as the more likely reason for Albion’s failure to take all three points.
