Washington Commanders‘ new owner Josh Harris is planning to inquire about trading for New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick this offseason, according to a new report.
Harris bought the Commanders earlier this year and allowed head coach Ron Rivera and his staff to remain in charge for the season.
It has been a rough start to the year for Washington, however, as they currently sit with a 2-6 record and Rivera’s seat is reportedly getting warmer with every loss.
The team also traded away star edge rushers Chase Young and Montez Sweat ahead of the trade deadline, showing clear signs of a looming rebuild.
‘There’s a theory out there that when the season ends, Josh Harris – the new owner of the Commanders – is going to call the Patriots and inquire about what it would take to get Bill Belichick,’ Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio said during an appearance on The on CBS Sports Radio.
