The Phoenix Suns were touted as the team to beat in the Western Conference following their acquisition of Bradley Beal this past summer.
However, over the first six games of the season, the Suns haven’t played like a championship contender.
They currently have a 2-4 record amidst injuries to Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
Although Booker recently returned to the roster, he played just two games before getting injured again, as reported by Duane Rankin on Twitter.
As per Rankin, Booker will be out against the Detroit Pistons due to a right calf strain.
In the last two games that Booker played, he averaged 31.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 10.5 assists per game for the Suns.
However, a much more concerning update for the Suns is the absence of Bradley Beal due to low back spasms.
A key reason behind many in the NBA community picking the Suns as the favorites to win it all was the addition of Bradley Beal to the team.
But the three-time NBA All-Star has yet to make his season debut.
Considering that Kevin Durant is essentially left alone for most of the games, it’s no surprise that the Suns have a 2-4 record right now.
On a positive note, the Suns could still make a comeback in the 2023-24 season if and when the duo of Booker and Beal are completely healthy.
Should fans be worried about the Suns’ slow start to the season, or is it too soon to panic?
