BEREA, Ohio — When the Browns looked ahead to this big showdown in Baltimore against the Ravens, they never dreampt they’d be without their two starting offensive tackles in Jedrick Wills Jr. and Jack Conklin against this stout front.
And they certainly never envisioned being down to their third and fourth options with Conklin’s replacement (season-ending knee injury) in Dawand Jones also possibly out too.
Jones sat out for the third straight day on Friday with knee and shoulder injuries and might have to miss the game. His status will be updated around 12:45. If Jones can’t go, he could be replaced by James Hudson III, with sixth-year pro Geron Christian possibly stepping in for Wills at left tackle.
In addition, Browns receiver David Bell (knee) was on the bikes again today, and receiver Marquise Goodwin (concussion) was not outside.
As for Wills (sprained knee, bones bruises), he’s on injured reserve for about six weeks, a league source told cleveland.com, and might not be back until the final three games of the season. With the Browns holding their tackle position together with smoke and mirrors, Christian might be their best option on the left side because of his experience.
