News update:BBC reporter confirms a laughable moment with Rangers after Victory it really catching

Lee McCulloch was entertained as Danilo mocked Rangers centre-back Connor Goldson’s frustration as the defender fired a late attempt almost “out of the stadium” at Livingston.

The pundit was left laughing live on BBC Sportsound on 12 November as the Brazilian striker did the same in reaction to Goldson’s failure, as he couldn’t match some nice build-up play with a similar finish in the closing minutes of the 2-0 victory at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

As the Englishman screamed in anger at his off-target attempt the striker enjoyed himself at his colleague’s expense and McCulloch joined in.

The former Gers captain said (2.03pm): “I’m laughing. Danilo is still laughing at him. Goldson does great, plays a lovely one-two with Danilo, he’s at the 18-yard box, round about the centre of the goal.

He’s tried to curl it into the far corner but it’s ended up nearly going out of the stadium

much of a threat at all on the day Goldson was barely required in a defensive sense.

So with his attempt to get involved at the other end going so badly awry it clearly left him unhappy, but on an afternoon where the performance had been better than the final result suggested it didn’t prove to be a major issue.

The playing surface was navigated successfully against a Livi side which is struggling at present, and were it not for some wayward first-half finishing and multiple VAR interventions the scoreline would have been more comfortable.

Goldson himself had what he thought was the opener ruled out by one review after Cyriel Dessers had stretched for the ball from an offside position, likely adding to the late frustration that so amused Danilo.

The Nigerian international did find the net for the opener even if he was again not at his sharpest, so the manager’s decision to give him the opportunity to gain some much-needed confidence from the start was rewarded.

Danilo will still surely be restored to the line-up for more testing fixtures after the international break but it a straightforward three points in West Lothian on this side of the gap.
