We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...
Rangers attacker Zak Lovelace is ruled out with a Grade 2 hamstring injury and will be unavailable for weeks, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert believes that the 17-year-old is not expected to return to training until mid December, at the earliest.
After that, he will gradually work on his fitness before being available for the first team in January, given that’s the timeline issued by the club.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“Based on the timeline, I imagine this is a grade 2 hamstring injury.
A grade 3 would be three months and his was not as serious.
“If he doesn’t return in January, would likely be back in training by mid December, which is a fair date to expect him to be back
Lovelace was handed his first senior start in the 3-0 win against St Mirren back in October but it did not go as planned for him.
Despite looking sharp early on, he had to be taken off the pitch via a stretcher due to his hamstring injury.
He has not featured for Gers since then and it remains to be seen if he’ll see some B Team action before he’s considered for the senior side again
