The Minnesota Vikings have been hit by the injury bug this season, as they have seen quarterback Kirk Cousins go down with a season-ending torn Achilles and star wide receiver Justin Jefferson suffer a hamstring injury.
Jefferson hasn’t played since Week 5 because of his hamstring ailment, yet somehow the Vikings have gone on a five-game winning streak without him.
Now, with Joshua Dobbs taking over under center, they need Jefferson more than they previously did.
Fortunately for them, he has been upgraded to questionable for this Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, per Ian Rapoport.

Before his injury, Jefferson was considered by many to be the best wide receiver in the NFL, and he has 571 receiving yards and three touchdowns through five games, and he still ranks second in receiving yards per game behind only Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins.
His ability to stretch the field vertically and make contested catches make him a very difficult cover for opposing defensive backs while giving Minnesota explosive offensive potential.
In his absence, rookie wideout Jordan Addison has shown his own potential with 603 yards and seven touchdowns in 10 games, while tight end T.J. Hockenson, a two-time Pro Bowler, might be on his way to a career-best season with 681 yards and four touchdowns.
With a 6-4 record, the Vikings, who very recently were 1-4, may have a real shot at a playoff spot if Dobbs provides them with adequate play at quarterback, and especially if Jefferson returns sooner than later and picks up right where he left off when he got hurt.
