The Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers are preparing for yet another memorable Thanksgiving clash. The Lions (8-2) are not only trying to win their first NFC North division title ever, but still competing for the number one seed in the NFC.
The Packers (4-6) suddenly find themselves one position out of the final Wild Card spot in the NFC and could easily make a push if they string together a few wins. As it turns out, the Lions likely won’t have a key offensive player in Week 12.
As per the Lions’ estimation, Jonah Jackson would have been the only player who would not have participated in a full practice. With ankle and wrist injuries, Jackson missed Sunday’s win over the Chicago Bears and was replaced by rookie Colby Sorsdal.
It will be interesting to see if a backup guard will have an impact on how often the Kenny Clark and company can stop the run and get pressure on Jared Goff. If the Packers want to make an improbable post season run, every week feels like a “must win.
