Alabama Will Reichard Accepts Senior Bowl Invite But gets Suspended Today For Not have Followed This Protocol.

Expect Will Reichard in Mobile this time around. The Alabama football kicker accepted an invite to the Reese’s Senior Bowl, the game’s social media accounts announced on Saturday.

Reichard accepted his invite a year ago before the Crimson Tide’s Sugar Bowl win. But Reichard decided to return to Tuscaloosa and skipped the yearly showcase.

As a graduate student, Reichard said he wanted to improve his touchback rate — he set a career-best 63.7% — and also set a few records. Reichard will end his career with the most points of any player in college football history (539) and the most 50-yard field goals in Alabama history (eight).

Reichard, a native of Hoover, is a two-time Lou Groza Award finalist. He made 82 of his 98 career field-goal attempts. He’ll be remembered for his consistency in crunch time for the Tide, his multiple double-digit field goal streaks and his one tackle in the 2022 Iron Bowl.

In Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest mock draft and position rankings, Reichard is ranked fourth among kickers and punters, and the second kicker behind Arkansass’ Cam Little. Stanford’s Joshua Karty has also accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl.

The game will be played in Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile on Sat., Feb. 3.
