Alabama safety gets pick-6 as NFL linebacker…
Maybe the Indianapolis Colts should have gotten Ronnie Harrison on the field sooner.
The former Alabama safety played for the first time in his sixth NFL season on Nov. 26.
After spending the first 11 weeks of the 2023 campaign on the Indianapolis practice squad, Harrison intercepted a pass in the first quarter of his first game with the Colts at his new position of weakside linebacker in a 27-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
On Sunday, in his third game this season, Harrison got another interception, and he took this one back 36 yards for a touchdown with 1:31 left in the first half to allow Indianapolis to tie the Cincinnati Bengals.
Harrison’s pick-six came off Cincinnati quarterback Jake Browning, whose pass was kept in the air by the right hand of tight end Tanner Hudson long enough for Harrison to catch the football.
The touchdown was the second of Harrison’s career. He picked off Indianapolis quarterback Philip Rivers and returned it 47 yards for a touchdown in the Cleveland Browns’ 32-23 victory on Oct. 11, 2020.
Before this season, Harrison had five interceptions in 67 regular-season and two playoff games as an NFL safety.
