Lions make big roster moves on Tuesday…
Tuesday was a big day for the Detroit Lions. Some very important questions got answered. This won’t be the last day like this either.
The Lions will soon have to make room for C.J. Gardner-Johnson, James Houston and Jason Cabinda.
There will be corresponding moves to make that happen. As for Tuesday, here’s what went down.
Activated Hendon Hooker from Reserve/NFI list
No shocker here. The Lions told us on Monday that they were going to do it after spending nearly all 21 days of his 21 day clock deliberating the decision.
This does not mean that Hooker will play this season. He’ll more than likely continue to be inactive every week.
What this does mean is that the Lions can continue to work with him in practice for the rest of the season and when training camp comes along next year, he’ll be ready to go.
The Lions have made their decison at kicker and they’re going to stick with Michael Badgely at kicker after he had a pretty good game on Saturday.
This doesn’t necessary mean that this is the end of Patterson and the Lions. If he clears waivers, the Lions could look to bring him back on their practice squad.
For now, it’s the right move to make. Patterson was really struggling and had missed some pretty makeable kicks multiple times during the season.
