Sauce Gardner Makes Strong Statement On Jets’ Coaching Staff…

The New York Jets couldn’t get anything going for them this season.

They did their best and traded for Aaron Rodgers, with GM Joe Douglas getting plenty of praise for being able to hold onto his young stars in the transaction.

But losing him just four plays into the season pretty much doomed everything from the very beginning.

From that point, it was all about trying to hold down the fort and hoping that Rodgers could make a miracle comeback.

That’s why star CB Sauce Gardner doesn’t agree with those who believe that it’s time to move on from Douglas and Robert Saleh.

Talking to the New York Post, the reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year made it loud and clear that the coaching staff and front office weren’t to blame for their shortcomings this season:

Robert Saleh entered the campaign on the hot seat in the sense that there would be no more room for excuses at this point, the team had to make a deep postseason run now that they had Aaron Rodgers in town, it’s as simple as that.

But it’s hard to blame the coach for how things went down after they had to change their entire plan because of Rodgers’ injury, not to mention everything that went down with Zach Wilson.

If anything, the only thing you could blame the GM for is for not having a legitimate Plan B or pursuing a veteran QB once Rodgers fell with that season-ending injury.
