Alabama signings and surprises

It is possible that by the end of Signing Day Alabama Football will have another No. 1 class. Certainly the Alabama Crimson Tide will finish in the top three nationally.

Nick Saban and the Alabama football staff will not be finished with the 2024 roster after Signing Day. Some top recruits will not sign until February. One of them is 5-Star wide receiver, Ryan Williams. Some other targets may sign, but not make their signing public until later, scheduled media announcements.

In additon Nick Saban and Alabama will continue roster building through the Transfer Portal. So far the Crimson Tide has one Portal addition; former 5-Star LT Overton. The defensive lineman was recruited by Alabama out of high school but he chose Texas A&M instead. After two seasons with the Aggies, Overton will join the Crimson Tide for the 2024 season.

The Alabama Crimson Tide went into Signing Day with 22 verbal commitments

One of the potential biggest stories for Signing Day would have been the Crimson Tide flipping 5-Star Edge Eddrick Houston from Ohio State. The Wednesday morning buzz was positive that Nick Saban and the Alabama football staff would pull off the flip. An unfortunate Signing Day surprise was Houston sticking with the Buckeyes.

This post will be updated throughout the day.

The Crimson Tide gained a major flip in 4-Star Athlete, Aeryn Hampton, who was committed to the Texas Longhorns. Another flip to the Crimson Tide was 4-Star, Running Back Kevin Riley, who was committed to Miami. Two flips and two great surprises for the Crimson Tide.
