Another New York Giant Super Star In Police Custody For Alleged…

Former NFL Runningback, Derrick Ward, once celebrated for his Super Bowl  XLII win with the New York Giants, is now facing a different kind of spotlight.

He is now behind bars in Los Angeles for a series of alleged robberies.

Ward was apprehended on Monday, with authorities stating that Ward resorted to force and intimidation to extract money from businesses.

Notably, no firearms were reportedly involved in the incidents.

As of Tuesday, Ward remains in police custody, and his bail has been set at a hefty $250,000.

His career later saw him don the jerseys of the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Houston Texans.

Notably, Ward contributed to the Giants’ victory in Super Bowl XLII against the New England Patriots, earning him a Super Bowl ring.

Ward’s moments on the field include a stellar 2008 season with the Giants, where he rushed for 1,025 yards alongside teammates Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw, collectively nicknamed Earth, Wind, and Fire. This trio’s success was attributed to impressive run blocking by the Giants’ offensive line.

Following his tenure with the Giants, Ward went on to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2009, signing a lucrative four-year, $17 million contract.

However, his time with the Buccaneers was short-lived as he was cut from the team in 2010.

Ward later made a brief comeback with the Houston Texans, signing in 2010 and retiring in 2012.
