Giff Smith Announces A Special Head way After His First Game With Los Angeles Chargers.

Although your Los Angeles Chargers did lose their 10th game of the year Saturday while officially being eliminated from the postseason, interim head coach had a very positive outlook on the team’s hard-fought 24-22 defeat against the Buffalo Bills, writes Eric Smith

Going into the game, we wanted to keep it close and have a chance to win it at the end,” Smith said.

“But we wanted every player to fight for each other, no matter what… If there was ever a guy that wasn’t going to do it, we were going to pull them out… We didn’t have any of that. They fought.

They fought every play.” Los Angeles got out to a 10-0 early start in the bout, and the game was only won at the very end via a clutch Tyler Bass field goal, with just 0:28 remaining in regulation.

Going into the game, I truly felt like they play hard. I really did,” Smith said. “My question, going into the game, was how would they react the first time Buffalo punches you in the face?”

“We go up, and then Buffalo scores [twice], 14 to 10, that could be where you crash and burn,” Smith recounted. “They rallied and they fought. That’s a step in the right direction.”

The bout marked a very significant moment in Smith’s career, as the longtime positions coach for LA/San Diego led the team through his first game as a head coach.

Los Angeles will next face off against the Denver Broncos this coming Sunday. The clash kicks off at 1:25 p.m.
